Kampala, Uganda – Newly sworn-in State Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Hon. Kabuye, has pledged to champion stronger urban planning, enhanced service delivery, and sustainable growth across Kampala and the greater metropolitan area.

Speaking shortly after taking the oath of office, Hon. Kabuye emphasized his commitment to transforming Kampala into a well-planned, inclusive, and modern city through close collaboration with government agencies, the private sector, and local communities.

The minister noted that rapid urbanization presents both opportunities and challenges that require coordinated efforts and innovative solutions to ensure orderly development and improved quality of life for residents.

"I am committed to working with all stakeholders to strengthen urban planning, improve service delivery, and promote sustainable growth within Kampala and the metropolitan region. Together, we can build a city that is efficient, resilient, and responsive to the needs of its people," Hon. Kabuye said.

He highlighted the importance of strategic infrastructure development, environmental conservation, efficient waste management, and improved public services as key priorities during his tenure. He also underscored the need to attract investment and foster public-private partnerships that can accelerate urban development and create employment opportunities.

Hon. Kabuye further called upon residents, community leaders, and development partners to actively participate in shaping the future of Kampala, noting that sustainable urban transformation can only be achieved through collective responsibility and shared vision.

Government officials, political leaders, and well-wishers congratulated the minister upon his appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to provide leadership that will drive Kampala's development agenda forward.

As he assumes office, expectations remain high that his leadership will contribute significantly to addressing urban challenges and positioning Kampala Metropolitan Area as a model of sustainable and inclusive urban growth in Uganda.
